How Did Grauballe Man Live
The examination on Grauballe mans hands showed no sign of hard manual labour. He was thought to have worn clothes made of flax and/or nettle which will not be preserved in the bog as he was found not wearing any clothes. Also just like the Tolland Man Grauballe Man had his aliementary canal examined to find traces of his last meal. It turned out to have consisted of gathered weed seeds, just as it was the case with the Tolland Man. However, small pieces of bones indicate that meat was also a part of his last meal.
The time period Grauballe man was from is the Iron Age, again a similar time period to other bog bodies found in area's near Grauballe. This is yet another link to the "sacrifice theory" as the tradition would have still been followed and wouldn't have yet died out. The iron age was a time where daily activities consisted of feeding livestock and everyone working on the villages to keep everything in order, with the porridge/gruel also thought to have been eaten by many people, not just sacrifices.
